Welcome Rotarians! We appreciate your interest in sponsoring a young person to go to RYLA. RYLA can be a life-changing experience for youth, which can only be made possible through your support!  If you would like to become a RYLA facilitator, please click here.  

How does your club get a student to RYLA?
STEP 1: FIND APPLICANTS
Starting as early as March
  • Decide as a club how many students you would like to sponsor for RYLA ($275/student)
  • Spread the word about RYLA to high school administrators, Interact clubs, and any high school freshman, sophomores and juniors. Click here for a promotional flyer.
  • Start asking students who your club might want to sponsor for RYLA.
STEP 2: SELECT APPLICANTS
Ideally before school adjourns
  • Select which student/s your club would like to sponsor for RYLA, and notify them by sending them 2 documents: their RYLA Letter & RYLA Certificate. Important: you will need to contact Natalie Argyle to receive the RYLA Award letter which includes the web address of the registration page, and specific instructions the student will need to correctly register!  
  • Email RYLAUtah@gmail.com to provide us with names and school for the student(s) your club will be sending to RYLA. If changes occur (i.e. students drops, adding new student, etc.) please email us.
STEP 3: REGISTER, PREPARE & PAY FOR RYLA
Ideally before Sept. 6.
  • Selected students must register for RYLA with their parents, by going to the URL listed in their RYLA Award Letter-- which is the ONLY way to get to the registration page. Students will e-mail their documents to RYLAUtah@gmail.com, and we will confirm with clubs when their student/s have registered or need additional follow up. Please note that students will need to complete the online registration, rather than the clubs.
  • Connect with student/s to ensure that they received their RYLA Award Letter, that they registered properly, and that they completed & signed their release forms (there are documents that require a notary & parents' signature). 
  • Make sure that either you or the student's parents have excused the student from school for RYLA.
  • Your club is responsible to transport your student/s to and from RYLA, as no student is allowed to drive themselves. Please make transportation arrangements before September 1, and e-mail RYLAUtah@gmail.com the name & contact info of the driver. 
  • Please make your RYLA payment ($275 per student) by clicking HERE.
STEP 4: RYLA!
  • Please ensure that RYLA students arrive at the Heber Valley Camp between 5:30-7:00pm on Wednesday.  They can be picked up between 12:30-1:30pm on Saturday. Click HERE for a map, and HERE for more transportation details. 
STEP 5: Follow up!
October-November
  • Contact your RYLArians, and schedule a time when they can attend your Rotary Club’s meeting to share about their experiences, what they learned, and to thank their sponsors.
  • Encourage students to join or start an Interact Club at their school.
