2018 Rotary Youth Conference in Zion National Park

Okay, so maybe we're a smidgeon bit excited for this year's Rotary Youth Conference, April 20-21, but that's because it really will be amazing. Here's the skinny. Please read it all.

  • Registration is mandatory and is due before April 1 so we can get exact numbers for camping, service projects & catered meals. Click here to register.
  • The cost is $40-60/person depending on how many nights you'll be sticking around, which covers (most) meals, snacks & water, park pass, and our big campsite at the Watchman Campground Thursday, Friday & Saturday night. Once registered, we'll e-mail more info & instructions on how to pay.
  • The official "conference" is Friday afternoon (3-9pm) & Saturday morning (6-1pm). But come early and stay late! There's so much to do, and spring is amazing in Zion.  Click here for ideas on what to do in Zion National Park.
  • Transportation is up to each club. If you need a ride, please let us know. Once in Springdale, we'll be utilizing the free shuttles which go from our campsite to the conference every 12 mins.  Click here for the shuttle times.
  • WE'RE CAMPING! We opted not to stay in hotels because $, or to be split up in home-stays with local Rotarians because we wanted to hang out. As such, you are responsible to bring your own gear, including a tent w/ rain protection, sleeping pad, bag & pillow, appropriate clothing & shoes, water bottle, etc. Please don't underestimate mother nature in the spring!
  • Don't sweat (or do!)-- you can shower at Zion Outfitters until 10:30pm, which is walking distance from our campsite. Click here to learn more.
  • Weather: Late April in Zion can get up to 80 degrees, and as low as 40 degrees. There can also be lots of wind & rain, so plan accordingly. If the forecast predicts extreme conditions, we may cancel the event & refund you.
  • What to expect: At the conference, you'll mingle with like-minded folks from Utah. We'll have a stellar conference, a sunrise hike in the works, service projects together in Zion, and of course, s'mores around the campfire.
  • What to bring: Camping gear, regular travel stuff (clothing, toiletries, yada yada yada), bring your bike & lock if you're into it, bring your guitar or clarinet for the campfire, bring friends, and bring your positive attitude (ha ha...had to write that!).

If you have questions or concerns, e-mail Miriam Barth.
